In keeping with the new portal system that is now in place.

First you need to enter your admin panel, open up number 3, and click portal settings.

Now from that list click latest, You will now be able to enter the components parameters.

The parameters breakdown:
Count = 10 => How many items to show.
Search Time = 100000 => How many hours to search back in time.
Link to = CONTENT => You can link to the FORUM, a portal CONTENT display or a custom link such as 'mydisplay.html' which will have the result parameters appended to it.
Show Result as = posts/topics => results can be shown as individual posts or in their topics.
Show Replies = yes/no => If showing posts, will posts that are replies be shown?
Filter = All/Portal => Search all forums with guest access or just forums in the list below or in OPTIONS if no list is given here.
Portal Forums = 3(test portals on here) => If set this is a comma seperated list of forums this portal will look at.
Search Type = 0 => What type of topics to search? comma seperated list of NORMAL - 0 STICKY - 1 ANNOUNCE - 2 GLOBAL_ANNOUNCE - 3 FRONTPAGE - 4 TOP - 5 ARCHIVE - 6 EDITORSCHOICE - 7 OPENTICKET - 8.
