Portal AlignmentForum: http://gfxtreme.myfreeforum.org
Hey,
My forum's dual-portal, and I was wondering if there was any way to align the tops of the portals with the top of the forum.
I tried using position: absolute CSS, but the Google adverts change sizes sometimes and move the forum down and then they're not aligned properly.
So is there any way to do this?
Thanks, Jack

unfortunately there isn't a real way of doing as the adverts are placed in between the overall_header.tpl and index_body.tpl, advert free would bring the forum index up inline, or the other way would be to place some <br /> at the beginning of the portals macros, as this would slowly move the portals down, but you would not get a dead even line, but it would be pretty close.

Shame. Thanks anyway.
Is there any way to use switches to tell the tables whether an advert is showing or not and position them accordingly, as even though I'm not advert-free, I occasionally see that there are no adverts showing?
I understand that this may be getting into advanced and difficult HTML, and I don't want to adopt a "write my html for me" approach, so if you can do this, can you also guide me through what you are doing? I'm still on a learning curve.

It is possible to use the switches to hide the adverts to those logged in but show them to guests, but this is somewhat of a grey area, as it can be deemed as "advert tampering" and something you need to check with admin about tbh.
